Tourism

Tourism is a significant contributing factor to the development of business and industry in many European regions. This in turn leads to higher employment rates and contributes to the reach of the objectives of the Europe2020. The European tourist industry mostly consists of small and medium-sized enterprises. The services of tourism enterprises are often closely linked to other businesses and play an important role in their development.

The Tourist industry is a key industry in our region. The region is actively working for an economic, ecological and socially sustainable tourism. During 2011 Mid Sweden European Office will monitor tourism issues on the EU arena. We cooperate closely with the Visit Västernorrland, Jämtland Härjedalen tourism and others.
