Energy, Climate and Environment

Many important decisions are made at the EU level concerning environmental issues. Almost 80% of those decisions have an effect on local and regional level. The EU has the legislative power in the area of environment, hence it is important to make our viewpoint on proposals from the Commission visible at an early stage.  It is much more difficult to influence the decisions when the directives have already been approved. It is possible to give input directly to the European Commission but the dialogue with the representatives of the national level is also very important.


During 2011 the Mid Sweden European Office will focus on the Energy efficiency Directive, actions to reduce CO2 emissions and climate change.
